Time flows slowly. 16-year-old Tokyo girl Ohana Matsumae (voiced by Kanae Ito) spends a happy and unforgettable time at the hot spring inn Kisarizaka, managed by her grandmother (voiced by Tamie Kubota). As autumn arrives in Ishikawa, Yoshina Wakura (voiced by Haruka Tomatsu) is asked by the owner of Fukuya to come to Kisarizaka for training, bringing a joyful and outgoing energy to the place. While cleaning, Yoshina accidentally messes up a room where miscellaneous items are stored. When Ohana rushes to tidy up, she accidentally discovers a diary belonging to Grandpa Doudin. To her surprise, it records her mother Satsuki’s (voiced by Takako Honda) rebellious experiences when she was young, as well as the arguments with her grandmother and the chance encounter with Ohana's father many years ago. This film is an original commemorative work for P.A. Works' 10th anniversary and is the theatrical version of the same-named animation.
