At the auction, the price of Vincent van Gogh's (Tim Roth) famous painting "Sunflowers" gradually increases, eventually settling on an astronomical figure. While the world fervently admires van Gogh's art, who thinks of a name like Theo (Paul Rhys)? This film tells the story between van Gogh and his brother Theo. Throughout his life, van Gogh was troubled by poverty, and haunted by his inner demons, he had to rely on his brother Theo's support to persist in his art. In van Gogh's view, he could only dedicate himself to the canvas and colors, and any other life troubles should be resolved by his brother, as he had given all his works to Theo. Theo loves and respects his brother's art; although he is not wealthy himself, he willingly supports his brother. Whenever van Gogh encounters financial issues or even emotional problems, Theo always provides selfless help in a timely manner. It can be said that without Theo, there would be no van Gogh in this world. During his lifetime, van Gogh sold only one painting, and he died consumed by his obsession with painting and guilt over Theo. After van Gogh's suicide, the heartbroken and despairing Theo soon also passed away. The two brothers never had the chance to enjoy the achievements brought by van Gogh's art, which is left for the world to celebrate.
