During the outbreak of the pandemic, a group of travelers is trapped in a hotel in Chiang Mai, Thailand, unsure of when they can return home. Young Suo Wa meets middle-aged man Yu Feng at the pool, while Yu Feng's differences with his wife deepen; injured in the eye, Ding Ge also spends time by the pool with Thai massage therapist A Dong; Suo Wa and her mother seem to have their door gods arranged incorrectly, and as Suo Wa's 20th birthday approaches, their secrets finally come to light. This is the latest work by director Wang Xiaoshuai after "So Long, My Son" (2019), which uses limited resources and aesthetically pleasing black-and-white photography to capture the confusion and anxiety of people during the disorienting days of quarantine. Suo Wa is portrayed by Ning Yuanyuan, daughter of Zhang Yuan, reflecting the rebellion and restlessness of the new generation.
