Alongside this, the old human civilization has almost completely withered away, and most of the surviving population has migrated to space close to Earth, settling in a facility called Diva. They have abandoned their physical bodies and immersed their minds and souls in the virtual space created by Diva, enjoying a pain-free existence. However, a hacker known as Frontia Setta (voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya) causes unrest within the Central Security Bureau, which is responsible for maintaining Diva's network security. To completely root out this mysterious enemy, the Bureau sends third-class officer Angela Balzac (voiced by Rie Kugimiya) back to Earth for investigation. Angela, piloting advanced mechas, first defeats swarming sand giant worms and then meets Dingge (voiced by Shinichiro Miki) who came to assist her. The two partners, with completely different personalities, set off together to the town of Jed, where Frontia may be hiding. Angela learns astonishing facts there, and the beliefs she once held begin to waver…
