The story takes place in the wind ensemble of Kitauji High School. Mizore Yoroizuka (voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki) and Nozomi Kasaki (voiced by Nao Toyama) are responsible for playing the oboe and flute, respectively. Mizore has been introverted, timid, and shy since childhood, living a very lonely life in middle school. The appearance and closeness of Nozomi made Mizore feel the warmth of friendship for the first time, leading her to treasure Nozomi as her most precious possession. However, the attachment and reliance also brought insecurity due to the fear of loss. In their final music competition in high school, Mizore and Nozomi decide to choose "Liz and the Blue Bird" as their competition piece. This song, drawn from a sad fairy tale, inevitably intertwines Mizore's relationship with Nozomi. As the date of the competition approaches, the gap between Mizore and Nozomi grows larger.
