Four Muslim youths living in the UK: Omar (played by Riz Ahmed), white Barry (played by Nigel Lindsay), Waj, and Faisal are using a toy gun as a prop to shoot a jihad video, as dedicating themselves to jihad is their fervent dream. Omar is tired of Barry's absurd theory of avoiding detection by using phone cards, and, along with Waj, goes to a Muslim guerrilla training camp in Pakistan. Their tough training life is quickly cut short due to accidentally injuring a comrade; Barry, who stays in the UK, looks for companions and finds Arab youth Hassan, who openly questions British politics, to collaborate with Faisal, who uses voice-modulation techniques to gather peroxide for making bombs. Upon returning home, Omar lies about receiving a mission to build a bomb, putting the others under his control. Faisal dies in an accidental explosion, and the remaining four Muslim warriors set their sights on the London Marathon...
