The film tells the story of Korean mountaineer Park Woo-jae, who tragically died while climbing Mount Everest at an altitude of 8,750 meters in 2004. To retrieve the remains of his companion and allow them to rest in peace, Yang Hong-ji (played by Hwang Jung-min) leads a team to Mount Everest to embark on a new expedition. On May 29, Yang Hong-ji and his team lived up to expectations by finding Park Woo-jae's body at 8,700 meters, holding a solemn burial ceremony at the snowy peak of the world and erecting a monument in remembrance. The incident received widespread emotional reactions once it was exposed. Korean actor Hwang Jung-min plays the role of Yang Hong-ji, the first Asian to complete all 14 peaks over 8,000 meters. The film will be produced by JK Film, known for films like "The Coast Guard", "Queen of the Scene", and "The Delivery". Directed by Kang Dae-kyu, who showcased his delicate lens work in "Harmony," the film will also shoot in snow-capped mountains in Nepal and other locations to present a more authentic portrayal of the snowy landscape.
