One summer during his first year of high school, Hodaka (voice by Kotarou Daigo) left his island hometown and came to Tokyo alone. Struggling to make ends meet, he was forced to find a job and eventually became a writer at a publishing company that specializes in strange supernatural publications. Soon, Tokyo was hit by continuous heavy rain, seemingly foreshadowing Hodaka's troubled future. While gathering materials in this bustling city, he encountered the incredible beautiful girl Hina (voice by Nana Mori), who lives with her younger brother. "It'll clear up soon," Hina tells Hodaka, and before long, the dark clouds above them gradually disperse, and brilliant sunlight pours down onto the streets… It turns out that Hina possesses the magical ability to "change the weather."
