The story directly follows the side story "Battlefield of Pacifist," with the battle between Earth and the colonies concluding 196 years after colonization. Except for Wing, Hiiro and three other Gundam pilots are determined to send the Gundams into the sun for disposal. However, the unified Earth sphere is once again consumed by human desires, reigniting war. The Barton Foundation establishes an army using the former OZ commander Treize's daughter as a puppet leader, using the newly established colony X18999 as a base, while also taking Earth diplomat Relena hostage in an attempt to execute Operation Meteor II. Hiiro and others enter the colony to resolve the crisis and retrieve the Gundam for combat.
