Shoko Nishimiya (voiced by Saori Hayami) was born with a hearing impairment and relies on a hearing aid to communicate with the world, resulting in her speech being particularly unusual. In elementary school, Shoko transferred to a new school, and her unique physical condition made her a noticeable presence in her class. While she gained solid friendships, she also faced isolation and bullying from a small group led by a boy named Shoya Ishida (voiced by Miyu Irino). Over time, the pranks, whether unintentional or deliberate, escalated, ultimately resulting in irreversible damage, leading to Shoko disappearing from everyone’s sight forever. After the incident of bullying Shoko was exposed, Shoya became the next target of bullying. In his loneliness and pain, he finally understood Shoko’s patience and gentleness, but he would never have the chance to apologize to her again. By chance, Shoya reunites with Shoko, and the wheels of fate begin to turn once more.
