Located in Okinawa, "Hotel Hibiscus" is an old guesthouse with only one room, despite being called a hotel. It is home to a third-grade girl named Mihoko and her family. Mihoko is lively and active, going on adventures with her friends every day. One day, on her way home from school, Mihoko encounters a young man lying on the ground and brings him back to Hotel Hibiscus... Director Yuji Nakae's new work, four years after "Nabbie's Love," continues to take place in Okinawa. The film is adapted from Nakasone Miiko's manga of the same name, depicting Mihoko's adventures and growth. Mihoko is played by Honami Kurashita, who was selected from 3,000 elementary school students in Okinawa, with co-stars including Tomi Hirayama, Okinawan folk singer Masao Teruya, and Yoshiko Yuki.
