Ordinary-looking and handsome high school student Shibuya Ayumi (played by Tori Matsuzaka) possesses an unbelievable identity, as his family is renowned as "Messengers." The so-called "Messengers" are able to arrange meetings between the living and the deceased according to requests, helping each fulfill their unaccomplished wishes. As an apprentice, Ayumi meets with relevant clients under the guidance of his grandmother, Ai (played by Kirin Kiki), leading them to open the door connecting to another world. During this time, he encounters middle-aged man Hattori Yasuhiko (played by Kenichi Endo), who deeply questions the authenticity of the "Messengers," high school girl Aramizu (played by Ai Hashimoto), who harbors murderous intent against her close friend over a lead role in a play, and single office worker Tsuchiya Koichi (played by Ryuta Sato), whose girlfriend Hinata Akari (played by Mizuki Kiritani) went missing seven years ago, leaving her fate unclear. Unspoken secrets and confessions, as well as secrets separated by life and death, are revealed in the long yet fleeting night... This film is adapted from the novel of the same name by Naoki Prize-winning author Mizuki Tsujimura.
