One summer day, a red-haired girl named Mary (voiced by Hana Sugisaki) is sent to her Aunt Charlotte's country cottage for a vacation. Being new to the place, Mary struggles to adapt to her surroundings, especially with the mischievous boy Peter (voiced by Ryunosuke Kamiki) intentionally going against her, which makes Mary quite unhappy. During a chance adventure in the woods, Mary discovers the legendary magical flower "Night-Blooming," and also finds a broken broomstick. This magical broom unexpectedly takes Mary flying into the sky, leading her to Endor College, a place that trains witches. In this enchanting location, Mary is warmly welcomed by Miss Mamborzech (voiced by Yuki Amami) and encounters the peculiar Dr. D (voiced by Bunshi Higashiyama). Although the girl clumsily becomes a magic student, she soon uncovers the secrets hidden within this place… This film is adapted from the British children's literature novel by Mary Stewart and is the first animated feature directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi after leaving Studio Ghibli.
