The story takes place in Paris in 1860, where Monsieur Dufour (André Gabriello) is vacationing in the countryside with his wife (Jane Marken), daughter Henriette (Sylvia Bataille), and a young assistant from the shop, Annadore (Paul Temps). Their destination is the small inn run by Uncle Blanc (Jean Renoir). After a pleasant dinner and enjoying the beautiful countryside scenery and perfect temperature, Monsieur Dufour takes Annadore fishing while Henri (Georges D'Arnoux) and Hédouin go boating with Madame Dufour and Henriette. Unexpectedly, sparks fly between Madame Dufour and Hédouin, while Henriette cannot resist Henri's fervent advances and falls into his arms.
