The film tells the story of squirrel Scrat (voiced by Chris Wedge) who inadvertently triggers a cosmic event while chasing an acorn, altering and threatening the world of the Ice Age. To save themselves, the talkative sloth Sid (voiced by John Leguizamo), mammoth Manny (voiced by Ray Romano), saber-toothed tiger Diego (voiced by Denis Leary), and other animals must leave their home and embark on a comedic adventure, arriving at an exotic new continent and encountering many colorful new characters.
