This film is adapted from the children's story of the same name by Norwegian-born British children's author Roald Dahl. Mr. Fox (voiced by George Clooney) and Mrs. Fox (voiced by Meryl Streep) learn of Mrs. Fox's pregnancy while stealing from a pigeon farm, and Mr. Fox promises that they will stop stealing after their escape. Two years later, Mr. Fox, despite the objections of Badger (voiced by Bill Murray), insists on purchasing a treehouse located on the land of three farmers: a chicken farmer, a ham trader, and a cider maker. Fox's son Ash (voiced by Jason Schwartzman) feels both jealous and resentful towards his cousin Kristofferson (voiced by Eric Chase Anderson) who has come to stay; meanwhile, Mr. Fox can't contain his impulses and, along with the treehouse manager possum Kylie (voiced by Wallace Wolodarsky), secretly embarks on another theft from the three farmers, leading to a fierce battle between humans and animals... The film was nominated for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Score by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts and for Best Animated Feature at the Golden Globes, and won Best Animated Feature awards from the Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, and Toronto Film Critics Associations, as well as Best Adapted Screenplay awards from the San Francisco and San Diego Film Critics Associations.
