The story narrates a clever coincidence; on the fifth anniversary of Perry entering Phineas and Ferb's home, Phineas created a large ping-pong machine using platypus feathers, and both of them were inside when, due to a twist of fate, they collided with Perry, who was on a mission in a rocket car carrying the two of them. They accidentally bounced into Dr. Doofenshmirtz's house, leading Phineas and Ferb to meet Doofenshmirtz and help him repair the "Time-Traveling Terminator" that they broke. At that moment, Perry burst into Doofenshmirtz's house, and to avoid being detected by the homeowner, he had to transform back into an entirely harmless platypus. After Phineas helped fix the machine, they entered another timeline. This timeline is a region ruled by a one-eyed dictator, Doofenshmirtz, with Captain Slacker as his assistant. The one-eyed Doofenshmirtz transformed Perry from his timeline into his evil minion, and under pressure, Perry revealed his identity, which left Phineas in disbelief as he considered Perry family—a family that shouldn't have secrets. The one-eyed Doofenshmirtz ordered the mechanical platypus to attack Perry, and after a struggle, they temporarily shook him off. However, Perry attempted to confront the one-eyed Doofenshmirtz on his own but was captured instead. Phineas wanted to return to his own timeline, but the remote control for the time machine malfunctioned, so they sought their counterparts in that timeline, only to find that their alternate selves were completely different—lacking imagination and unaware of what summer vacation was. They then sought out Isabella in that timeline and discovered she was an officer in the Doofenshmirtz resistance, with Phineas's friends also being members of the resistance, led by Commander Candace. Meanwhile, the one-eyed Doofenshmirtz, having heard about another region from Doofenshmirtz, planned to use the Time-Traveling Terminator to invade Phineas's original timeline on a massive scale, but Doofenshmirtz forgot how to activate it. Consequently, the one-eyed Doofenshmirtz used the captured Perry as a hostage to bring Phineas and the others in. At that moment, Doofenshmirtz recalled how to modify it, opened the time portal, but the one-eyed Doofenshmirtz, considering Doofenshmirtz too cowardly, sent him along with Phineas and company to feed monsters. At that time, Candace from that timeline saved them and led a large escape through the time portal.
