Based on the well-known Chinese mythological tale "Investiture of the Gods," it tells the story of the young Emperor Wu, Ji Fa, and his growth in adversity. It is a story of Ji Fa's journey from nothing to greatness, overcoming hardships to finally reach the pinnacle of his life. In the late Shang dynasty, King Zhou ruled unlawfully, bringing natural disasters and calamities one after another. Demons harmed the people, and the Nine-Tailed Fox, seeking the legendary Dragon Roar Sword, unleashed chaos in Longyin Town at the border of Xiqi. Ji Fa, the second son of the Lord of Xiqi, Ji Chang, eliminated the harm for the people, obtaining the Dragon Roar Sword and cutting off one of the Nine-Tailed Fox's tails. The Nine-Tailed Fox, seeking revenge for its severed tail, possessed the concubine Su Daji, entered the palace to seduce King Zhou, and frame Ji Chang's family, imprisoning Ji Chang in Youli City for seven years. With the help of Nezha and Lei Zhenzi, Ji Fa rescued his father. As King Zhou became increasingly brutal, he incurred the wrath of Heaven and the displeasure of the people. Various lords united to appoint Ji Fa as their leader and engaged in a final battle with King Zhou's army at Muye City. Under the guidance of Jiang Ziya, Ji Fa comprehended the realm of "selflessness," unleashing the Dragon Roar Sword’s power to its fullest, breaking the Extermination Array, and leading his troops into Chaoge City. King Zhou burned himself to death, and the Nine-Tailed Fox was exterminated, thus establishing the Zhou dynasty.
