"Phantom Night" is adapted from the novel of the same name by Keigo Higashino and is regarded as a sister piece to "Journey Under the Midnight Sun." One early morning on January 17, 1995, a massive earthquake struck Hanshin. To escape the debts incurred by his father during his lifetime, Masaya Mizuhara (played by Takashi Tsukamoto) takes advantage of the chaos to murder his uncle, who came to guard his father's wake.
