As the Ice Age descends, animals are in a hurry to migrate to warmer places and store food. Mammoth Manny, sloth Sid, and saber-toothed tiger Diego get sidetracked from their migration to help a human baby return to its parents. The three animals, each with distinct personalities, decide to unite their strengths to assist the baby. Along the way, the kind-hearted Manny grows suspicious of Diego, thinking he has ulterior motives and wants to eat the baby. They face countless challenges together but eventually learn to be sincere with one another. When Diego's companions find out there is a baby with him, they, suffering from hunger and cold, urge Diego to hand over the baby as food. Diego has developed feelings for the adorable baby and cannot go through with it. How will Diego choose? Will the baby be able to return home safely?
