Professor Jiro Ueda (played by Hiroshi Abe) from the University of Science and Technology of Japan specializes in physics. He challenges all psychics in Japan, stating, "If you can prove the existence of superpowers in front of me, you will be rewarded." This advertisement attracts the attention of a down-and-out magician, Naoko Yamada (played by Yuki Uchida), the daughter of Japan's greatest magician, Gozo Yamada. Naoko, who initially plans to deceive him to win the reward, becomes a rival and partner to Ueda. The two, often at odds, get involved in various supernatural events and uncover the truth. Eventually, Ueda writes a book based on their experiences that exposes fake superpowers, which leads to the arrival of a man claiming to be from Rokubo Village. He says that every year on January 11, someone dies at his inn. Is it a curse, a superpower, or a hidden crime? Jiro Ueda and Naoko Yamada team up once again as the second season of "Trap," filled with mystery, reasoning, and scientific knowledge, begins.
