This is the third season of the TV anime, aired from April 4, 1997, to September 26, 1997, consisting of 26 episodes. This work completely diverges from the original, featuring an entirely original story with many new characters. Since it is an original anime, some settings contradict those of the original work, and the original protagonists, such as Lina, become more like bystanders. The storyline takes a much darker turn, which strays far from the original's tone, so it did not receive the same level of acclaim as the previous two seasons.
