The story takes place in a fictional fantasy world where everyone is born with a book of life, and everyone’s life unfolds according to the script written in that book. Ekus (voiced by Ryota Osaka) is an anomaly, as his book of life is completely blank. In search of clues about his destiny, Ekus embarks on a journey. Along the way, he meets a mysterious tuning witch, Reina (voiced by Reina Ueda), a bold and free-spirited young man, Tao (voiced by Takuya Eguchi), and a carefree girl, Shion (voiced by Miku Kubota). Throughout their adventures, Ekus forms deep friendships with many companions who possess unusual books of life.
