"Demon Lord and Hero" is adapted from the fantasy novel written by Japanese author Marmalade Orange. One day, a powerful "Hero" breaks into the Demon Lord's castle, challenging the Demon Lord to save the human world. However, he is met by a "Demon Lord" who bears a striking resemblance to a human woman. This Demon Lord chooses not to fight the Hero, but instead seeks to establish a contract that would make the Hero her possession. Faced with a firm refusal and a challenge to duel from the Hero, the Demon Lord calmly analyzes the reality between humans and demons, explaining that the current social order depends on this war and that defeating the Demon Lord would not fundamentally resolve the root of this conflict. The Demon Lord herself hopes for new possibilities—neither a tragic ending to the war nor its continuation. Understanding why the Demon Lord needs his assistance, the Hero decides to accept her contract and help her fulfill her wishes. Thus, the Hero and the Demon Lord hide their true identities and begin to reform the world in the guise of a swordsman and a scholar.
