Ichiri Pochi (voiced by Chisaki Morishita) is an extremely shy girl who becomes very anxious and almost bites her tongue whenever she has to talk to unfamiliar people. Kaho Yahara (voiced by Yoshimi Ohara) is Pochi's childhood friend and her only companion. However, when Pochi enters high school, Kaho unexpectedly proposes to sever their friendship. The sole condition for reconciliation is that Pochi must make friends with all her classmates before graduating high school. To meet Kaho's condition, Pochi works very hard but often ends up causing misunderstandings and funny situations. As time passes, Pochi gradually realizes that despite the challenges and uncertainties, making friends may not be as difficult as she initially thought.
