Her inept nephew Koji (played by Hiroshi Abe) lives nearby and every day they take a boat to fetch fresh water, brew coffee, and greet the new day along with their regular customers. Mr. Taniguchi (played by Tsurube Shofukutei), who has admired Yoshiko for thirty years, Ryuzaki Tokusaburo (played by Takashi Sasano) who has a strained relationship with his daughter (played by Yūko Takeuchi) due to certain circumstances, and the resident monk and priest who can't stand each other, all add infinite charm to the café. Additionally, a single father (played by Arata Iura) who comes from afar and a desperate thief (played by Kamezo Kataoka) find their direction again after encountering Yoshiko. Always full of smiles, Yoshiko seems to be waiting for someone’s arrival... This film is adapted from Akio Morisawa's novel "The Cape Café that Protects the Rainbow," which is inspired by a real café and its owner.
