The story takes place in a virtual fantasy world. Here, two corresponding individuals hold hands, creating a spiritual connection known as "Ninglu," which can become a powerful weapon. According to legend, there exists a deity that controls everything in this world, and defeating the deity allows one to fulfill their deepest desires. For a long time, Handshakers have aimed to defeat the deity, continuously fighting, with Osaka being the focal point of all causalities. Takatsuki Tōgane (voiced by Saito Soma) is a high school student fascinated by machinery. By chance, he encounters the sleeping girl Akutagawa Koyori (voiced by Mahiro Maeda) in a laboratory. When Tōgane takes Koyori's hand, she unexpectedly wakes up, and the two become partners.
