In legend, the flesh of a mermaid is a precious material sought after by many, granting anyone who consumes it the glory of eternal life. In an unexpected turn of events, the fisherman Ryouta (voiced by Kouichi Yamadera) and his companions capture a strange piece of flesh. By a twist of fate, the three share this meat, and soon after, two of them die suddenly. Whether it is luck or misfortune, from that day on, the surviving Ryouta becomes an immortal. After hundreds of years of witnessing the changes of the world, Ryouta can no longer bear the loneliness of eternal life. He decides to travel the world, vowing to find a way to lift the curse of immortality. In a certain part of the world, a girl named Mana (voiced by Minami Takayama), who is imprisoned by villagers, eats the flesh of a mermaid under her grandmother's deceit. When Ryouta and Mana meet, the wheel of fate begins to turn, and the two burdened by the sin of immortality embark on a perilous journey filled with danger and death.
