The story takes place at St. Val Academy, a boarding school for aristocratic youth in 1924. The new transfer student, Kazuki Ichimiya (voiced by Takuya Eguchi), arrives at the school and is immediately labeled the ominous "Black Grim Reaper" due to his appearance. In reality, Ichimiya is an honest and awkward boy, but his personality often leads him to be easily caught up in inexplicable bizarre events. During a murder incident, he meets the small-statured blonde girl, Victoriya (voiced by Aoi Yuuki), who helps him escape danger with her high intelligence. Their bond begins from that moment. In this school, many sensational supernatural events are rumored, and the question of whether these events are caused by ghosts or humans is left to Ichimiya and Victoriya to unravel one by one.
