Host Jean's son Adam (22) returns to Paris from Stanford University, where he has a past romance with one of Jean's subordinates. Adam visits his mother and meets her literary professor boyfriend and the boyfriend's daughter, Mira (17). Adam takes Mira out, and they end up having an intimate encounter after drinking. The next morning, Mira files a rape accusation; Adam initially denies intercourse but admits to oral sex. The court trial is intense, with witnesses expressing their opinions, and in the end, Adam is sentenced to five years in prison with a suspended sentence.
