Shouya Yuuri (voiced by Yuuki Kaji) is a figure skating athlete who, after a defeat in a challenge, rushes back to his hometown, Kyushu, uncertain of where his bewildered future lies. At this moment, a figure skating coach named Viktor (voiced by Junichi Suwabe) appears before Yuuri. He was a five-time reigning champion of the World Championships and has been Yuuri's idol since childhood. Viktor's appearance rewrites Yuuri's future, and at the same time, a Russian boy named Yuri (voiced by Kouki Uchiyama), who looks and behaves quite differently, also shows up beside Yuuri. With Viktor's help, Yuuri regains his confidence and passion for figure skating.
