On a continent called "Amber Ground," where light is never seen, there exists a sacred profession known as the Letter Bee. In this dangerous land, shrouded in darkness and unreachable by artificial suns, the Letter Bees risk their lives to deliver important "letters" for the citizens. Gao Xiu (voiced by Jun Fukuyama) is an excellent Letter Bee, and today he is tasked with delivering a "letter" from a young boy named Lag (voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro). Lag's mother was forcibly taken away by a group of strangers, and she sent Lag as a letter to her aunt's house in a seaside town. During the journey, Lag becomes attracted to Gao Xiu's strong yet gentle heart. Out of admiration for Gao Xiu, Lag decides to become an excellent Letter Bee. At age 12, he passes the examination to become a Letter Bee, only to discover that Gao Xiu is no longer a Letter Bee and has lost his "heart," with his whereabouts unknown. Lag embarks on the path of a Letter Bee, delivering "hearts" and "hopes" in letters, determined to find Gao Xiu... Based on the fantasy-style shonen manga "Letter Bee" by Hiroyuki Asaka.
