Misaki Ayuzawa (voiced by Ayumi Fujimura) is an extremely strong-willed girl whose tragic childhood experiences have caused her to lose all trust in men. Living with her mother and younger sister has forced Misaki to take on responsibilities typically associated with boys. Over time, this has led others to perceive her as having a rather unappealing personality. While attending Seika High School, Misaki has the honor of becoming the first female student council president in history. However, this accomplishment brings mounting pressure from all sides. To support her family, Misaki is forced to work at a maid café. If her classmates were to discover her in a maid outfit, she would suffer a tremendous blow to her dignity. Unfortunately, her classmate Takumi Usui (voiced by Nobuhiko Okamoto) uncovers her secret. Rather than ridicule her, Takumi has come to Misaki's aid during several critical moments. Over time, Misaki develops feelings for Takumi, who is attracted to Misaki's strong personality. A heartwarming school romance is about to unfold.
