Narumi Ayumu (voiced by Kenichi Suzumura), a first-year student in the senior high department of Tsukishin Academy, possesses a very high IQ and meticulous reasoning skills. However, even so, he has always lived in the shadow of his older brother, Narumi Kiyo (voiced by Kazuhiko Inoue). Unexpectedly for him, two years ago, his brother mysteriously disappeared after leaving a message about the "Cursed Child." Ayumu has been troubled by his brother's disappearance and wants to know the whereabouts of the brother he has always admired, as well as to understand the so-called "Cursed Child" and the "unknown truth" that his brother was obsessed with researching. Ayumu meets his senior, Yuzuki Hinano (voiced by Masumi Asano), who provides convenience for his investigation with her vast information network on campus. As the investigation progresses, a truth that could overturn Ayumu's world gradually comes to light. This anime is adapted from the similarly named manga by the manga artist Kyōhei Jō.
