Yuichi Hasumi (played by Hayato Ichihara) lives in a quiet small town with his mother, stepfather, and younger brother. He becomes good friends with his classmate, Ryusuke Hoshino (played by Shugo Oshinari), who is in the kendo club with him. Ryusuke was originally an outstanding student, but faced jealousy from his peers. After a group of classmates returns from Okinawa during the summer vacation, Ryusuke seems like a different person. He starts to bully his classmates cruelly, and Yuichi is not spared. Yuichi has an introverted personality and admires the singer Lily Chou. He meets someone named "Blue Cat" on a forum dedicated to Lily Chou that he created. Both Yuichi and Blue Cat lead challenging lives and encourage each other, agreeing to meet at a Lily Chou concert. Yuichi is taken aback by Blue Cat's appearance.
