13-year-old Abe Chuahō (voiced by Kaida Yuki) is the grandson of Japan's greatest Onmyouji Abe no Seimei. As Seimei's only heir, he possesses no magical power—he cannot see youkai. When he considers giving up the path of the Onmyouji to cultivate other talents, a mysterious little spirit resembling a white cat appears by his side. Meanwhile, youkai run rampant in Kyoto, and his grandfather commissions Chuanghao to repel the demons. Without magic, Chuanghao must rely on this little cat-like creature as his "eyes" to see youkai. After several fierce battles, Chuanghao drives away the demons wreaking havoc in Kyoto and restores the magical powers sealed years ago. At the same time, he learns that the little cat spirit is actually his grandfather Abe no Seimei's shikigami—Tōbu Kōren. Although he has regained his magical abilities, Chuanghao is still quite inexperienced as an Onmyouji. He sets a grand ambition, vowing to surpass his grandfather and become the strongest Onmyouji. Together with his companion Tōbu Kōren, he embarks on the path of cultivation…
