Kyle (Robbie Amell) is a Marine who has a loyal military dog, Max, as his partner and comrade. They navigate through life-threatening situations together, developing a deep friendship. Ultimately, Kyle dies on the battlefield, and a heartbroken Max suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, unable to fight and unwilling to accept a new owner, thus leaving the military. Kyle's family adopts Max, and Kyle's brother Justin (Josh Wiggins) shows great affection towards this dog with a story. Under the gentle care of Kyle's family, Max gradually recovers from his psychological issues and regains his vitality. Just as the family enjoys their time together, a man named Tyler (Luke Kleintank) appears before Max, claiming to be a former comrade of Kyle.
