This is a story that spans a thousand years. The young man, Kunisaki Yoshito (voiced by Daisuke Ono), who makes a living by performing with puppets, arrives at a seaside town. Wandering around, Yoshito is searching for the "girl in the sky," which are the last words his mother said before she passed away. There is a story that has been passed down: a girl with wings is seen as a symbol of misfortune and is kept in a room away from the light until she meets the fated boy. The two fall in love, but this romance is not permitted. As a result, the girl is cursed and trapped in a cycle of reincarnation. In the town, Yoshito encounters the girl Kanou Misuzu (voiced by Ryouko Kawakami). Misuzu, who is frail and ill, bears an uncanny resemblance to the legendary girl. Their meeting resembles the tale from a thousand years ago, and the gears of the reincarnation once again begin their relentless operation...This film is adapted from the famous game of the same name by Key, which also has a theatrical version anime.
