A deep bond that transcends species, a magical journey that touches the heart. From a young age, the little mouse Sena lived in an orphanage and, after numerous challenges, finally escaped from the underground mouse kingdom. However, when she stumbled into the Bear Kingdom, she faced disdain and scorn at every turn. Exhausted, the little Sena fell asleep in a trash can and awoke to find a giant bear ready to make her his dinner. Yet, after this whirlwind episode, the two quickly became friends. This bear, named Émile, is a street musician and circus performer who has dabbled in many talents. Enthusiastic Émile invites Sena to stay at his home, where they support, understand, and encourage each other. This seemingly impossible friendship is challenging existing orders and rules and is slowly growing deeper and more solid. "A Bear Named Émile and a Mouse Named Sena" features heartwarming watercolor hand-drawn animation and a healing storyline, winning Best Animated Feature at the 38th César Awards in 2013 and being shortlisted for the international screening section of the 3rd Beijing International Film Festival in 2013 and the "Children's Film" section of the 2012 Toronto Film Festival. The book series "A Bear Named Émile and a Mouse Named Sena," created by Belgian author Gabrielle Vincent, has sold over 2 million copies worldwide in various editions and is loved by children and adults alike.
