Hinako Sakuragi (voiced by Mao Ichimichi) is a very introverted and shy girl, but she harbors a dream of becoming a theater actress. To achieve her dream, Hinako decides to push herself and leave her familiar hometown for the capital, hoping to meet new friends and improve her social skills. Hinako moves into a dormitory called Shikizō, only to find out that it is actually an old bookstore. At Shikizō, Hinako meets many friends — the cheerful and optimistic eccentric girl Yuna Nakagawa (voiced by Miyu Tomita), the usually silent but eloquent Chika Ogino (voiced by Hisako Kanemoto) once she’s on stage, and the seemingly small and cute Mayuki Hiiragi (voiced by Yui Ogura) who works hard in life.
