In an ordinary seaside town, a bento shop is bustling with people. Rough men laugh loudly, seemingly aware that the always-smiling shopkeeper Chihiro (played by Kasumi Arimura) has a history in the entertainment industry, and they make lewd jokes without restraint. Facing the men's teasing and women's ridicule, Chihiro always responds with a smile. During her free time, she exercises in a nearby park, radiating sunshine and vitality. A girl named Kunikazu, who feels suffocated by life, is drawn to Chihiro's aura, and secretly observes and photographs her. A boy named Kohei, who comes from a single-parent family and lacks affection, treats Chihiro poorly in a rough manner. However, these two entirely different children ultimately form a pure friendship with Chihiro. The sun shines brightly; who knows if it can illuminate the lonely, quiet corners?
