The story takes place in an isolated village—Waichang Village. For many years, the village has maintained the oldest burial method—burial in the ground. This has provided a perfect environment for the emergence of a creature known as the "corpse demon." Corpse demons, a type of zombie, are strong and fear sunlight; they survive by feeding on human blood and aim to turn ordinary humans into corpse demons to expand their own numbers. Their sole purpose is to completely take over Waichang Village. Strange occurrences are happening secretly throughout the village, and no one connects them together. When fear erupts, it is already too late. Yuki Natsuno (voiced by Kouki Uchiyama) is the first person to discover the existence of the corpse demons, but after being attacked by one, he transforms into a variant known as "werewolf." Apart from having superior physical abilities, werewolves are otherwise identical to humans, making them the only existence capable of countering the corpse demons. In this small village, surrounded by fear and blood, a brutal war is about to unfold between the corpse demon leader, Saki Tomonari (voiced by Aoi Yuuki), and the werewolf leader, Yuki Natsuno, amid the simple villagers and the bloodthirsty monsters.
