The story takes place in the 300th year of the Divine Era. On the surface, Yuuki Yuuna (voiced by Haruka Terui) is an ordinary second-year middle school girl, a cheerful and enthusiastic active member of her school, well-liked by teachers and friends. However, after school, she has another identity—as a member of the Hero Club. Her neighbor and close friend, the quiet yet unexpectedly gentle Togo Mimori (voiced by Suzuko Mimori), the straightforward and brash Inubouzaki Fuu (voiced by Yui Uchiyama) who surprisingly excels at household chores, Fuu's younger sister, the adorable and animal-like Inubouzaki Fuu (voiced by Tomoyo Kurosawa), and the seemingly rebellious but actually very shy and proud Miyamoto Karin (voiced by Juri Nagatsuki), are all unique characters active in the Hero Club alongside Yuuna. Together, they face a powerful enemy known as Balut.
