At the age of thirty, Souta Omote (voiced by Yuichi Nakamura) is a web designer living alone in the bustling metropolis of Tokyo. One day, he receives the news of his father's death, who ran an udon noodle shop in their hometown. This prompts Souta to return to his long-lost hometown of Kagawa, where he unexpectedly meets a child named Poko (voiced by Shiho Kobayashi) in the shop. Unbeknownst to him, this seemingly ordinary child with a profound love for udon is actually a tanuki (raccoon dog spirit). Through a series of mishaps, the two begin a strange cohabitation. In this quiet and beautiful small town, Souta is confronted with many remnants of his past and memories, including the carefree doctor Shinobu Nakajima (voiced by Tomokazu Sugita), the office lady Sae Fujiyama who often visits the shop, and Souta's former lover Mai Magoro. When lost friends reunite, a new chapter of the story begins.
