One day, an ordinary high school girl, Motomiya Akane (voiced by Tomoko Kawakami), along with her friends Morimura Tenma (voiced by Tomokazu Seki) and Nagayama Shiho (voiced by Yuuki Miyata), is transported to the distant "Kyo" by a red leaf. There, people refer to Akane as the "White Dragon Priestess," and she can use the dragon god power within her to protect Kyoto from evil spirits. The so-called Eight Leaves represent the four Azure Dragons and four White Tigers, who serve the purpose of surrounding the Priestess to ensure her safety. Meanwhile, the gentle and kind Princess Fujiko (voiced by Ikue Otani) uses her limited powers to take care of Akane's daily life. In that time and space, the four gods that maintain stable air currents have been taken by the demon clan, and the demon king Akram (voiced by Ryotarou Okiayu) reveals his true form and provokes Akane. To prevent the barrier from being destroyed, Akane must fight the demon king and reclaim the four gods. However, as time passes, Akram gradually becomes moved by Akane's purity and righteousness, while Akane is deeply attracted by Akram's mysterious background. Can they, standing on the edges of good and evil, achieve a happy ending?
