Human civilization has become abandoned, and the people who remain in the vast urban ruins depend on the technology-monopolizing nobility for survival. Among the numb and desensitized, wolves, thought to be extinct, confuse people's eyes by appearing in human form. They are searching for the lost "Paradise," a world completely ruled by wolves, where on nights of the full moon, the maiden of the "Moon Flower" will open the gate to "Paradise." One day, a strangely dressed girl named Jessa appears before four wolves, Quiba, Zmai, and others. With their innate sense, the wolf tribe understands that she is the "Moon Flower" girl they have been searching for. At the same time, various noble factions send armies to compete for Jessa. The visuals are exquisitely crafted, and Yoko Kanno's music is fantastic, making it one of the best animations of 2003 in my opinion.
