Old Pei (played by Wu Gang) has been guarding a desolate area with his family for ten years to protect the gold mine he discovered. For the past decade, a wealthy buyer has wanted to purchase the mine, but Old Pei has repeatedly refused. In a fit of rage, the buyer sends killers to "deal with" Old Pei. Meanwhile, news about Old Pei and the gold mine leaks, attracting various parties to the desert. The "Real Estate Three Musketeers" — Xi Feng (played by Ying Cai Er), Liu Tiao, and Ba Tong — are the first to strike, attempting to undermine the trust between Old Pei and his wife, Xiu Sao (played by Yue Xiuqing), by using a mahjong game. However, they are outsmarted and driven away by the more skilled Old Pei. Director Deng Ge arrives with the crew, along with geology PhD Zhang Qing and his ailing girlfriend Yue Yue. The two groups employ charm and professional geological knowledge to try to obtain solid evidence of gold in Old Pei's mine.
