Due to the closure of their school, Wave Road Middle School, from the start of the new semester, Sendaiko Hikaru (voiced by Hanazawa Natsuki) and his childhood friend Mukaiho Aika (voiced by Hanazawa Kana) along with their friends Hirahei Chisaki (voiced by Kayano Ai) and Isaki You (voiced by Ousaka Ryouta) transfer to Mihama Middle School on land to continue their studies. Sendaiko and his friends are part of the sea-dwelling people who live beneath the ocean, and it is said that long ago, all humans originated from the sea. Many were captivated by life on land and abandoned the "womb" bestowed upon them by the gods. For thousands of years, the land-dwellers and sea-dwellers coexisted through friction; there are conflicts, misunderstandings, as well as admiration and longing between them.
