Fashion magazine editor Zhou Xiaohui (played by Joe Cheng) is talented and, after three years on the job, becomes the deputy editor, which incites jealousy in his mentor and magazine chief Alex (played by Alan Tam). Alex uses manipulative tactics to force Zhou Xiaohui to resign. Unwilling to accept this, Zhou Xiaohui tries to lead his elite team to establish a new magazine. However, only an unreliable editorial assistant and a fashion-challenged, sportily dressed, plain girl Yinghong (played by Vivian Hsu) are willing to follow him. Zhou Xiaohui convinces his friend, coal magnate's son Wu Yang (played by Qiao Renliang), to invest, and gathers a new team that includes a rural photographer (played by Wang Taili) with dreams of shooting fashion editorials, to launch a new publication to rival his former employer. However, this motley crew is neither professional nor reliable, and no matter how hard Zhou Xiaohui, as an elite, tries, he struggles to establish himself in the industry. Just as Zhou Xiaohui is in despair, Yinghong's unexpected performance sparks his inspiration and helps him find direction for the magazine's positioning. Through the collective effort of the team members, Zhou Xiaohui's dreams gradually come to fruition in their pursuit of aspirations...
