The reliable and steady older brother Yamamoto Kentaro (voiced by Daisuke Ono), the hot-tempered and impulsive Tachibana Ryo (voiced by Sōichirō Hoshi), and the aspirational Sugihara Kazuya (voiced by Kazuyuki Okitsu) are a trio in the yakuza. However, after making a mistake during an incident, they are about to face punishment from their boss Inukane (voiced by Keiji Fujiwara). Inukane offers them two choices: to die as an apology or to undergo gender reassignment surgery in Thailand and debut as an idol group. Ultimately, the three choose the latter, and thus, the idol group Backstreet Girls, with core members Airi (voiced by Yuka Kuwayama), Mari (voiced by Kaori Maeda), and Chika (voiced by Hikaru Akao), is born.
